Emilie (Mila) Altherr, born in 1903 in the city of St. Gallen in eastern Switzerland, married a doctor named Friedrich-Wilhelm Opitz in 1929. Mila suffered from skin problems and couldn't find a suitable product for her skin. Therefore, she made up her mind to create an innovative face cream with the help of a pharmacist. In 1938, Mila established M.Opiz&Co.AG in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and launched the Mila d'Opiz brand. In 1939, Mila d'Opiz's biomedical skincare product, Mila d'Opiz, was successfully launched with the slogan "Golden Point of Beauty," marking the beginning of the first generation of Mila Group and starting a 76-year journey of persistent beauty care. In just one year, the Mila Group expanded from cosmetics to the fields of chemistry and pharmaceutical technology and established the Mila Research Center with over 300 Swiss biomedical scientists, dermatologists, and beauty experts. In the same year, Mila products successfully entered other European markets. In 1974, the Mila Group launched ascara, a specialized skincare brand for sensitive and mature skin. The current manager of the Mila Group, Caroline Magerl-Studer, inherits the experience of the previous two generations and continuously develops innovations. Finally, in 2014, the world's first pure caviar skincare product for mature skin, the Caviar Peptide series, was introduced. In 2015, ascara officially entered the Chinese market, bringing 76 years of experience and achievements in skincare for sensitive and mature skin to more Asian women.
